Conference History
Conference History
The Upper Mohawk Valley Model United Nations (UMVMUN) conference was first held at Utica College in 1973 and continued to be held there until 1998. Since then, the conference has been held at the renowned liberal arts colleges of Hamilton College (1999-2006, 2009, and 2011) and Colgate University (2007-2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013). From 2014 to the present, UMVMUN has been hosted by the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute in Utica.

Following the 2013 retirement of long-time advisers, Ms. Sherry Wright and Mr. John Slater, a coalition of advisers and experienced MUN delegates from the Mohawk Valley have been working diligently to modernize our cherished conference while maintaining UMVMUN traditions. President of the Upper Mohawk Valley chapter of the UNA-USA, Mr. Greg Smith, has organized the conference alongside co-advisers from various schools, including current co-adviser Mr. Frank Robertello (Proctor). Starting in 2014, UMVMUN began a tradition of documenting the highlights of each year's conference through professional photography and a video project. The archive of those projects is found below.
